9. Audio Mix Engine
9.2.10 Conf Bus Config Example
To generate a mix minus/N-1 or N-n feed, there are three parts to the configuration:
·
First, a conference bus must be created for each mix minus feed (from the
Definition').
·
Second, the sources must be defined to feed the conference system (using the
parameters).
·
Third, some MF Keys should be programmed so that the operator can enable or disable the conference
for each source.
Each conference source receives an automatically switched mix minus feed. When their source fader is open (on-
air), they will hear programme minus themselves, and when their source fader is closed (off-air), they will hear the
conference bus minus themselves – this allows members of the conference to hear each other while they are off-
air.
There are two completely separate conference systems (Conf 1 and Conf 2), each of which may be used to
generate multiple mix minus or N-n feeds.
Defining the Conference Busses
1.
Right-click on the Conf Bus branch of the 'Tree Definition', and Insert a new element. Use the repetition
field to insert multiple busses in one operation:
2.
Edit the parameters for each conference bus:
Most important is the Reference name - in our example, CB_DJ. Tick Conf 2 if the bus is to be part of the second
conference system, or leave it blank to use Conf 1.
See
Conf Bus
for details on the remaining parameters.
