4.
Double-click on the panel, and configure the Src and Dest Pages so that each physical source and
destination is mapped to a Matrix Nr:
The
matrix numbers
are fixed for your system, and can be displayed by opening the Command ->
Inputs/Outputs lists.
Tick the Stereo option to treat the matrix source or destination as stereo. If a stereo source is connected to
a mono destination, then only the Left channel will be used.
You must tick the Active box for the matrix key to be available to VisTool.
To create a mute source (silence), set one of the matrix numbers to address 0, and remember to tick the
Active box.
5.
Select the Global tab, and assign the control signal to action the matrix assignment using the Take field
- in our example, we have used a Screen Module MF Key (TAKE1):
6.
Then enter the Select Reset Time value. This sets the amount of time for which a pre-selection remains
active before it is cancelled. Note that each time the operator makes a new pre-selection the countdown resets.
You can configure a matrix control system without a TAKE function. For example, if you wish routes to be
made by selecting a source and then a destination. To achieve this, assign the output of a "Not True" logic
function
(Logic ->
NOT) as the Take control signal. This alters the operation such that only one route can be
made at a time – first select the source, then the destination and the route is made.
