The QFX10000 line of modular chassis can have one or two Control Boards, depending
on the configuration. Control Boards can be installed in either of the two top slots on the
front of the chassis.
In redundant configurations, a QFX10000 Control Board is a hot-removable and
hot-insertable field-replaceable unit (FRU). In base configurations, you need to install a
second Control Board before removing a failing Control Board in order to prevent the
switch from shutting down.
Before you install a Control Board, ensure that you have an electrostatic discharge (ESD)
grounding strap.
