Configuration Parameters

line_erase

This asynchronous port parameter allows the Model 5390 server to echo line erase for a video
terminal. When enabled, the Model 5390 server erases all characters on the line and moves the
cursor back to the beginning of the line. When disabled, the Model 5390 server echoes the line erase
character for hard-copy terminals, making the deleted line visible and positioning the print head at
the beginning of the next line. The line erase occurs only at the CLI level. A Y enables this parameter,
an N disables it. The default is Y.

load_broadcast

This Model 5390 parameter defines, during a boot, whether or not the Model 5390 server requests
the configuration or message-of-the-day files from other hosts on the network if any or all of the
files are not available on the preferred load host. A Y enables this parameter, an N disables it. The
default is Y.

load_dump_gateway

This Model 5390 parameter specifies the gateway's IP address. A gateway is required if the preferred
load or dump host is on a different network or subnet than the Model 5390 server. The default is
0.0.0.0 (no gateway).

load_dump_sequence

This Model 5390 parameter specifies available network interfaces (Ethernet, SLIP, or self) and the order
in which they are used for a down-line load or an up-line dump. You can list more than one interface by
using commas to separate interface names. Table C2-8 describes the valid options.
