Internetwork Packet Exchange (IPX) Protocol
KEYED OPTIONS:
MODULES DISABLED
The DISABLED MODULES field displays any software modules that have been disabled via
the Model 5390 disabled_modules parameter (described on page C2-21). If this field displays
ipx , IPX is unavailable even if the IPX option_key parameter is set correctly.

Set the option_key parameter to the value obtained in Step 1.
In the following example, the option key is set to RaqbDwv8e using admin:

Specify the type of IPX frame that the Novell network uses to encapsulate IPX packets
on the Ethernet.
To specify the frame type, set the Model 5390 ipx_frame_type parameter. Valid values are
ethernetII, raw802_3 (the default), 802_2, or 802_2snap. The following command sets the
type to 802_2:
admin: set annex ipx_frame_type 802_2
To determine the frame type the network is using, check the AUTOEXEC.NCF file on your Novell
server or use the Novell file server console command called PROTOCOL.

Reboot the Model 5390 server to put the parameter settings into effect:
admin: q
annex# boot

Reconnect to the Model 5390 server and issue the CLI stats –o command to make sure
that IPX is Keyed On and that ipx is not listed as a disabled module.
