In the following example, the second router is unable to forward the outbound packet, as indicated
by the asterisks (***) under the Dir heading. Note that the hop count remains at 1 because the packet
crossed only one router.

The ppp command allows a user at a remote host to dial into a modem attached to the Model 5390
server and convert the CLI port to a PPP interface. Resetting the port returns it to CLI mode. The
syntax is:
