Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP)
The Model 5390 server
can require the peer to
pass a security check
before starting NCP. The
Model 5390 server
negotiates for the
security specified by the
ppp_security_protocol
parameter. Valid
arguments for this
parameter are:
• pap (password
authentication
protocol [PAP]).
• chap
(challenge-handsha
ke protocol
[CHAP]).
• pap,chap (first
negotiate for
CHAP; if peer
NACKs, negotiate
for PAP).
• none (do not
negotiate; the
default).
