Installation and configuration of the SmartLinkTM system is performed by
Fisher-Berkeley approved distributors. This includes:

Placement and location name assignment of IR receivers
n
Initial configuration of patient badges
I Installation of SmartLinkTM central units
n
Running and pulling serial cables from SmartLinkTM to each CCM.

To connect the CCM to the SmartLinkTM system, connect the RS-232 cable from the patient
location mainframe to the bottom port on the RS-232 board at the rear of the CCM. Once you
connect to the RS-232 port, you need to configure the patient location function. Refer to
Chapter 8 of this manual.
The following cable diagram is provided for reference only. You should not have to construct
a cable to connect the CCM to the SmartLinkTM system. If the cable is faulty, contact the
Fisher-Berkeley service representative.
