Preparing
the Site
Introduction
This chapter shows you how to plan and prepare the installation site for the HP Component
Central Monitor.
The various phases of site planning prior to equipment installation are:
Location
Planning the location of the various system components.
Environment
Confirming and correcting, as necessary, the environment of the proposed
installation site(s).
Mounting
Referring to the Mounting the Components section of this manual for a listing
of suitable mounting hardware recommended for use with the various system
components, and all details on the available mounts and accessories.
Cabling
Identifying the requirements for the cabling, conduiting and faceplates for
connecting the various system components.
The careful planning of the site for the HP Component Central Monitor is essential for its safe
and efficient operation. This chapter gives all the information required for the planning prior to
the preparation of the proposed site and then the installation of the system.
A consulting schedule should be established between the Customer and Hewlett-Rxkard Sales
and Support Representatives, to ensure that all preparations are completed when the sgstem is
delivered.
It may be necessary to contact an independent consulting engineer or the factory if you are in
any doubt about the structural and cabling requirements for the planned installation.
