Cleaning the EIP Component Central Monitor
Cleaning the HP Component
Central Monitor
The HP Component Central Monitor should be kept free of dust and dirt.
Exterior cleaning of the case and CRT screen is recommended. Clean the case with a lint-free
cloth or sponge, moistened with either soap and water, a diluted non-caustic detergent or one
of the cleaning agents listed in this chapter. Hewlett-Packard Display Cleaner, HP Part Number
8500-2163 is recommended for the cleaning of the CRT screen.
Cautions
To avoid damage to the HP Component Central Monitor:
1. Do NOT use Povodine@, Sagrotan@, Mucocit@ cleaning agents or strong
solvents e.g. acetone.
2. Most cleaning agents must be diluted before use: always dilute according to
the manufacturer's instructions.
3. Never use abrasive material, (such as steel wool or silver polish).
4. Do not allow any liquid to enter the case. Never submerge any part of the
system.
5. Do not pour liquid onto the system during cleaning.
6. Do not allow any cleaner to remain on any of the equipment surfaces - wipe
it off immediately.
Cleaning
Agents
Any solution categorized under the following generic products, apart from those listed in the
caution, can be used as a cleaning agent:

Dilute ammonia
n
Dilute sodium hypochlorite (laundry bleach)
Note
Concentrations ranging from approximately 500 ppm (1:lOO dilution of
household bleach) sodium hypochlorite to 5000 ppm (1:lO dilution of household
bleach) are effective depending upon the amount of organic material (e.g.
blood, mucus) present on the surface to be cleaned and disinfected. See note 2
below.

Hydrogen peroxide (3%)
w Ethyl alcohol

Isopropyl alcohol
