Location
The situating of the HP Component Central Monitor should be planned such that the nursing
staff are able to monitor the patient with relative ease, having all patient connectors and
controls readily available and that the displays are clearly visible. The location should also
allow access to service personnel without excessive disruption and should have sufficient
clearance all around the instrument to allow air circulation.
Location
Types
The system can be installed in one or more combinations of the following location types. They
are:
Stacked
This is where the Master Display is mounted directly onto the Computer
Module containing an Integral Rack.
In Vicinity
This is where the Master Display and Computer Module are located so they can
be directly connected using cables no longer than 3 meters (i.e. without the
use of faceplates).
Remote
This is where the Master Display and Computer Module are located so they
can be connected using cables between 3 and 30 meters in length. Typically
connected indirectly using faceplates and conduiting.

All location types will allow remote connection to other systems (for example,
SDN).
Where more than one site is used for locating equipment (a remote installation), the following
sections should be considered for EACH site.
