Responsibilities
The procedures are grouped into two parts: procedures that local staff or contractors are
responsible for, and procedures that HP personnel are responsible for. The procedures for HP
personnel and local staff are outlined below and described in detail on the pages that follow.
Local staff

Provide power outlets.

Prepare mounts.

Install conduit.

Install wallboxes.

Procedures
for Local Staff
The following tasks must be completed before the procedures for HP personnel may be started.
Providing
Power Outlets
One power outlet for each display and for any peripheral device (for example, a printer or
recorder) is required by the system, unless isolation transformers are used. Provide a power
outlet in the vicinity (1 m or
3
ft) of each component that requires power.
Warning
Only the power cables provided with the system may be used. For reasons
of safety, the use of power (mains) extension cables or adapters is NOT
recommended.
Preparing
Mounts
Where
ceiling, wall, or shelf mounts are required for mounting the equipment, the customer is
responsible for the following:

Providing and installing all hardware which will be required to install the mounting hardware
supplied by Hewlett-Packard.
n
Making sure that all ceilings, walls, and mounting rails that will support mounting hardware
are suitable for their proposed load.
