Error code numbers, slot numbers and device ID numbers are displayed in
decimal in the Status Log. In an error message the error code numbers, slot
numbers and device ID are displayed in hexadecimal. Hexadecimal numbers
are followed by an "H".
Error Code List (Device ID 16400 or 4OlOH)
The most important information provided in a start-up error message or in the status log is:
1. Device ID
2. Error Code
3. Slot Number
The most common and significant Device ID reported is 16400 (4010H). This indicates an
operating system error, causing a fatal error code to be generated.
The following table lists some of the error codes for device ID 16400 (4010H). The table details
the possible causes and corrective actions to be taken when these codes are reported. Error
code numbers are provided in both decimal (for status log entries) and hexadecimal (for codes
provided in start-up error messages). Rather than defining each error code, the codes have
been broken down into error ranges. This information should help to identify which board is
defective and should be replaced.
