the HP Component Central Monitor
System Description
System Description
Designed for realtime monitoring within the clinical environment, the HP Component Central
Monitor provides continuous waveform display, quick alarm identification, and flexible
documentation capabilities.
The HP Component Central Monitor connects to HP Care-Net, and can monitor any patient
connected to the network. It features the look and feel of the HP Component Monitoring
System, facilitating training, support, and ease of use.
Waveform
Display
In Standard Display mode, the HP Component Central Monitor can show 4, 6, or 8 sectors of
realtime waveforms. Systems equipped with an optional second display can show up to 12
sectors. Any number of sectors can be assigned to a single patient.
Depending upon screen configuration, each wave can be either 4.4 or 5.86 seconds at 25
mmlsec
Each sector can display up to 7 parameters, alarm and INOP messages, bed label, patient name
and alarms off indicators.
The bottom half of the screen can be replaced by a 'I&k Window, used to show additional
patient information or instrument configuration choices Displayed waves are never lost or
covered, as a compressed waveform display window always remains visible.
Alarm
Identification
The HP M2360A provides color-coded alarm identification, with.the message color indicating
the alarm's severity. Both the HP M2360A and the HP M2350A provide standard HP Care-Net
audible alarm tones.
Alarms are graded and assigned priorities according to severity:
* * * (red) level alarms signal a life-threatening state, such as asystole or ventricular fibrillation.
* * (yellow) level alarms indicate a problem condition such as heart rate in excess of predeflned
limits.
Patient alarms and equipment INOPs generate messages and audible tones.
The patient's alarming waveform is backlit on the screen to help the user quickly recognize the
patient in alarm.
The alarming waveform is recorded along with the patient's ECG waveform. The central
monitor features single-step user reset for both alarms and recordings.
