Introducing
the ElP Component Central Monitor
System Description
Documentation
The standard single/dual channel recorder module can write one or two realtime or delayed
waveforms. The 40mm wide recording strip includes three lines of annotation.
A second single/dual channel recorder module may be ordered. In addition to providing all
standard recorder functions, the second module also provides backup recorder capability.
In addition to
the
integral recorder modules, a four-inch standalone recorder is available as an
option.
For chart ready printouts, the HP Component Central Monitor supports the HP DeskJet,
QuietJet, and LaserJet series printers.
Arrhythmia
Monitoring
Arrhythmia alarm, INOP, rhythm, VPB rate, and ectopic beat status information can be
displayed centrally and at all HP Care-Net bedsides. Arrhythmia monitoring control is available
at the HP Component Central Monitor, HP Component Monitoring System, and at all capable
HP Care-Net bedside monitors.
Event Notification
and Alarm Validation
A graded priority alarm structure allows more serious alarms to override less serious ones and
allows differentiated notification. Selected alarm criteria can be adjusted (from default settings)
for each patient. Four arrhythmia alarm limits (VENT TACHY HR, VENT TACHY RUNS, RUN
VPBs > X, VPBs > X/MIN) can be adjusted in addition to controlling **(yellow) alarms and
* *bedside sounds, INOP sounds, and pacer detection in the algorithm.
Alarms may be manually validated as true or false or automatically reset by the system. Alarm
validation is effective in improving beat classification and allows immediate discard (or saving)
of an alarm for the Alarm Report.
Alarm Documentation
Upon a ***(red) level alarm, a strip recording is automatically generated. Upon * *(yellow)
level alarm validation, the user may request a strip recording. Additionally, all saved alarms
can be recorded at any time.
The HP Component Central Monitor can also be configured to generate strip recordings
automatically upon * *(yellow) level alarms.
Alarm Review and Edit
The user can review and edit the validation of up to 40 saved annotated alarms before they
are presented in an Alarm Report (each page with 4 alarms). If an alarm is not discarded at
validation, it may be discarded during the review/edit process. As memory fills, an alarm report
can be automatically generated.
