'lb Remove the Fan
The procedure for removing the fan from the front end assembly is described in the following
steps.
Step 1 Remove fan grill and filter by depressing two release tabs on bottom of grill and
pulling forward.
Step 2
Disconnect the fan wire connector from the front end rack board.
Step 3
Remove the 4 nuts securing the fan to the front end assembly and lift the fan out
of the assembly.
Step 4
Unscrew the 4 rubber isolators securing the fan shield to the fan assembly; lift the
shield up to remove.
'lb Replace the Fb.n
The procedure for replacing the fan is described in the following steps.
Step 1
Replace the fan shield: the shield is keyed with an arrow to indicate proper
orientation. Align the arrow with the location of the fan wires, allowing the fan
wires to clear the assembly.
Step 2
Replace the 4 rubber isolators to secure the fan shield to the fan assembly.
Step 3 Replace the mounting plate: like the fan shield, the mounting plate has an opening
to allow the fan wires to clear the assembly.
Step 4
Replace the fan in the integral rack and attach the 4 nuts to secure the fan to the
rack assembly.
Step 5 Reconnect the fan wire connector to the front end rack board.
Step 6
Install fan grill and titer over fan cover and snap into place.
