Slip 3.8 cm (1 l/2 ") of shrink tubing 0890-0291 over end of cable. It will be used later to
cover the outer shield.
Strip jacket 3.2 cm (1 l/4 'I). Be careful not
to
damage the outer shield.
Fold back outer shield and drain wire. Remove filler strips, if present.
Solder one wire lead to the outer shield drain wire. Use wire from excess cable or another
28 AWG lead.
Cut and remove plastic separator.
Unravel inner shield to approximately 5 mm (l/4 ") above jacket.
Twist and fold back the inner shield.
Solder a lead wire to the inner shield. Use wire from excess cable or any wire 28 AWG or
larger.
Use 4 cm (1.5 ") shrink tubing 0890-0874 to cover inner shield so that the inner and outer
shield do not come in contact. Cut away excess inner shield, if necessary.
Caution
Inner shield must be isolated from outer shield.
10. Use shrink tubing from step 1 to cover outer shield.
11. Strip leads 4 mm (5/32 ") and twist conductor strands tightly.
12. Using one of the Amp crimping tools (90430-l from Amp-USA, or 748566-l from
Amp-Europe), crimp contacts to leads. Use slot 28- 26 on the Amp-USA tool or appropriate
slot on the Amp-Europe tool for outer pins and conductors. For inner pins and conductors,
use slot 24-22 on the Amp-USA tool or appropriate slot on the Amp-Europe tool. Crimped
