Preparing and Terminating Cables
Thissection describes cable termination procedures for remote installations. Long cables for
DC/DC, Video, Rack, and RS-232 are shipped with connectors on one end and contacts on the
other, ready to insert into connector housings. If the cables do not have to be cut to length, the
factory crimped contacts may be inserted directly into connector housings.
Single Faceplate Installation
Double Faceplate Installation
In single faceplate installations, cables must be terminated on the display module side (or the
side away from the computer module). In double faceplate installations, first terminate the
cable on the display side according to the procedures listed in this section. Then, cut off the
connector and repeat the procedure on the computer module side. Connection diagrams for
both male and female terminations are provided and parts for both can be found in the cable
installation kits.
