Understanding
the Display Module
The Switch-Mode
Power Supply
When used as the master display module, it also provides:
a
60V
This supplies the DC/DC converter, in the Computer Module, via a 15-pin
D-type socket. The DC/DC converter in turn produces the voltages for the
cards in the computer module.
Note

Light from a red led can be seen through the rear of the SMPS case to show the
60V is present.
The Switch-Mode
Power Supply (HP M1094B)
The display has an internal switch-mode power supply (SMPS) for producing all the voltages for
the display module.
The SMPS is connected directly to the line
The SMPS supplies all the power for the operation of all the local equipment, the integral and
remote racks, including the plug-in recorder modules.

The SMPS provides different voltage levels for various components of the system as follows:

Supplies the de-gausing coils for the display screen.
When used as the master display module, it also provides 60V for the computer module
DC/DC converter, which, in turn, produces voltages for the cards in the computer module.
