At this point the control unit will send a series of messages to the on board panel display: an error code,
in accordance with the table below, will be displayed in place of "Cli".
MALFUNCTIONS WHICH CAN BE DETECTED
C.C. to treated temperature sensor earth
C.A. or C.C. indistinguishable treated temperature sensor
C.C. to outside temperature sensor earth
C.A. or CX. indistinguishable outside temperature sensor
C.C. to passengger compartment temperature sensor earth
C.A. or C.C. indistinguishable passenger compartment
temperature sensor
C.C. to frost sensor earth
C.A. or C.C. indistinguishable frost sensor
Mixture actuator malfunction
C.C. to requested temperature potentiometer earth
C.A. or C.C. indistinguishable requested temperature potentiometer
C.C. to ventilation potentiometer earth
C.A. or C.C. indistinguishable ventilation potentiometer
C.C. to mixture earth feedback
C.A. or C.C. indistinguishable mixture feedback
Fan operation malfunction

If several errors are present, they are displayed every 3 seconds.
Having concluded all the rrors, the milometer is displayed once again.
If the codes differ from those mentioned above, bear in mind that the first figure or letter identifies the
component, whilst the second figure identifies the type of fault, namely:
1. Open circuit - 2. Short circuit to earth - 3! Short circuit to + battery - 4. Short circuit and open circuit
indistinguishable - 5. General actuator malfunction.
If a system fault diagnosis is carried out AFTER A REPAIR OPERATION which have in­
volved disconnecting the battery and/or control unit, it is necessary to:
- turn the ignition switch to the ON position,
- wait for around 30 seconds: the control unit will carry out a "self-learning" cycle,
- return the ignition key to the OFF position,
- carry out fault diagnosis as illustrated and described previously.
