Removing-refitting
21.27
Using the hydraulic jack, suitably ma-
neouvre the gearbox so that it is released
from the centering pins, then remove it
from the engine compartment slowly l o w ­
ering the hydraulic jack.
Refitting
Before refitting the gearbox - differ­
ential unit, it is necessary to check
that the thrust bearing has remained
in the bell housing and is not interfer­
ing with the clutch. Carry out the op­
erations described below:
Check that the thrust bearing is correctly
matched with the gearbox main shaft c o n ­
trol lever, checking that the teeth on the
thrust bearing mesh w i t h the control lever
as shown in the diagram.
Fix the clutch release lever, in a fully re­
tracted position, on the bell housing, then,
using the hydraulic jack move the gearbox
- differntial unit near the clutch, centre it
on the special references and fix it to the
engine. For future operations, reverse the
order of the operations carried out for the
removal.
DRIVE SHAFTS
For the removing-refitting and the disman­
tling of the drive shafts, refer to the "Drive
shafts" paragraph for the 1370 12v version.
