1 Introduction
This chapter describes the basics about HP NetServer AA server messages, including:
Messages that are logged to the Windows NT System Event Log
Messages that display in a Windows NT blue screen on a monitor attached to the CE
either as the CE operating system is booting or when a CE is being deconfigured
Messages that display on the BIOS screen or the Windows NT blue screen during the boot
process or CE resynchronization process
Messages that display in a pop-up window while the HP NetServer AA Manager is in use
Messages that display in the HP NetServer AA Manager's GUI display
This chapter assumes that you are familiar with HP NetServer AA terminology and the
Windows NT process of reporting messages in the Event Viewer.
Some procedures in this manual refer to maintenance procedures, such as shutting down an IOP,
a CE, or the CE operating system. Other procedures refer to hardware maintenance procedures,
such as replacing a hardware component of the HP NetServer AA server.
Warning: To avoid unintentionally removing your HP NetServer AA server
from service or causing damage to any HP NetServer AA
components, follow the detailed maintenance procedures in
Chapter 9
of
HP NetServer AA Solution Administrator's Guide.
