Chapter 13
IOPn.MtcMon status: The CE CPUx stepping IDs do not match.
CE1 CPU ID register = 0xy.
CE2 CPU ID register = 0xz.
Variables
x – the ID of the incompatible CPUs
y – the contents of the Intel Pentium CPU ID register of CE1
z – the contents of the Intel Pentium CPU ID register of CE2
Severity
Warning
Description
The revisions (stepping IDs) of the Intel Pentium processors in the two CEs do not match. This
does not prevent the CEs from synchronizing, but because the revisions (stepping IDs) are not
identical, the CEs may not execute continuously in lockstep.
Hardware/Software
A difference has been detected between the Intel Pentium processors on the CE motherboards.
Action
If the event log indicates that a CE is periodically removed from service, it may be necessary
to replace one or both CE motherboards so that both CE motherboards contain Intel Pentium
processors that have identical family numbers, model numbers, and stepping IDs.
IOPn.MtcMon status: The CE MIC BIOS revisions are not compatible.
CE1 MIC BIOS revision = x.
CE2 MIC BIOS revision = y.
Variables
x – the revision of the MIC module BIOS in CE1
y – the revision of the MIC module BIOS in CE2
Severity
Error
Description
The revisions of the BIOS in the CE MICs are not compatible. The major and minor version
numbers of the revisions must match exactly for the CEs to synchronize.
Hardware/Software
This message is generated as a result of a difference between the BIOS revisions of the MIC
modules in the CEs.
Action
To resolve this condition, run the MTCFLASH Utility to update the BIOS revision on one or
both CEs. Refer to
information.
