Hardware setup

Connect the WAN/ETH1 port

Use an Ethernet cable to connect the IX14 to your local laptop or PC or to your local network (LAN).
If you connect directly to your PC, the factory default IP address is 192.168.2.1

If you connect to a LAN that has a DHCP server, reboot the device after you connect and wait

for the DHCP server to assign an IP address to the device.

Connect the serial port

Use an RS-232 serial cable to establish a serial connection from your IX14 to your local laptop or PC.
Use a terminal emulator program to establish the serial connection. The serial port must be
configured to match the configuration of the serial port to which you are connecting. The default
serial port configuration for the IX14 device is:
Baud rate: 115200

Data bits: 8

Parity: None
n
Stop bits: 1

Power on the IX14

Note
The IX14 does not include a power supply or antennas. See

1. Power on the IX14 by connecting a DC power source. If you are using a non-Digi power supply,

2. Power LED is sold blue as the device prepares to boot up.
3. Power LED flashes blue as the device boots up.
4. When the Power LED stops flashing blue and returns to solid blue, the IX14 is ready.

QR code definition

A QR code is printed on the label attached to the device and on the loose label included in the box
with the device components. The QR code contains information about the device.
