SUBJECT: REPLACEMENT OF REGISTRATION FRAME
SYMPTOM:
The right side cover cannot be closed properly and an SC401/SC402 is displayed.
CAUSE:
The registration frame is broken.
SOLUTION:
Replace the registration frame with the new style frame (A2501167). Some of the items located on the
Registration Frame are attach with double-sided tape. These items may become unusable when moved
from the old frame unit to the new frame unit. We have provided a list of these items on the following page.
NOTE 1: If the Right Door Modification is necessary refer to Technical Service Bulletin A250/B001 - 030;
Dated 10/05/2000 for additional information.
NOTE 2: Refer to Technical Service Bulletin A250/B001-048; Update Number 2 for serial number
information to see if it is also necessary to replace the Fusing Lever Plate.
1. Remove the Photoconductor Unit.
2. Remove the Fusing Unit (Refer to SM pg 6-17).
3. Remove the By-Pass Tray (Refer to SM pg 6-30), Check TSB- 030 if applies.
4. Remove the Cover's (Refer to SM pg 6-1,2,3).
5. Remove the Main Motor / Gear Box / Fly Wheel (Refer to SM pg 6-35 ).
6. Remove the I/O board (Refer to SM pg 6-36) along with the metal board support.
7. Remove the Fan (2 screws).
8. Remove the Ground Plate (1 screw).
9. Disconnect the Photoconductor Set Sensor.
   
