SUBJECT:
DOG EARS / PAPER TRAY JAMS
SYMPTOM:
Dog ears and/or paper jams occur, especially when using copy paper with one side already printed on
(i.e. used paper).
CAUSE:
If paper is used that already has curl to begin with, the leading edge may impact the Paper Feed Guide (P/N
A2502725) below the intended area due to the gap between the Paper Tray and the Paper Feed Guide after
the paper is fed by the Feed Rollers. This can cause dog ears and/or a paper jam to occur. See illustration
A below.
SOLUTION:
Two strips of Mylar (P/N A2502831) are added to the Paper Feed Tray, as shown in illustration C on page 2.
This will ensure that the leading edge will not run into the guide and the paper will be properly fed, even if the
paper is curled to begin with. See illustrations B and C on page 2.
   
