Replacing the Battery
If the battery that maintains the spectrum analyzer random access
memory is deteriorating, stored states and traces will only be retained
for a short time after the instrument is powered off. When the voltage
across the battery drops to +2.6 V, its life and use are limited and the
output voltage will deteriorate quickly. The battery for maintaining the
memory can be accessed through the rear panel.
There are two ways to avoid loss of the calibration constants.
• Remove and replace the battery in less than 10 minutes.
• Power on the spectrum analyzer before removing the battery.
Replace the battery using the following steps:
1. If an option module is attached to the rear panel, turn the spectrum
2. Remove the two screws securing the small panel labeled with a
3. Remove the battery and replace it, observing proper polarity. Use
