The IVM Software, Qovia Central, supports display of the VoIP infrastructure in both a user-defined
hierarchy and an application generated topology. The operation/performance of various VoIP devices is
displayed in Red, Yellow, or Green to provide an instant visual status check. An intuitive point-and-click
interface gives quick and easy access to any device requiring attention. Qovia Central, is easy to install
and configure on a Microsoft Windows™ workstation or server.
For detailed information, refer to the IVM System Users Manual provided with the software.
Conditions
General
The IVM Owner's Guide includes a chapter devoted to the configuration and use of each of the following
functions:
Application Administration
Provides basic tools to monitor and manage the voice network including:
Firewall traversal ability to remote management unit
Ability to create users, assign privileges and assign multiple users
Ability to create, modify, or delete nodes in the Device Administration Tree
Network Discovery
Auto discovery of handsets and soft phones using SNMP and proprietary software
Discovered VoIP infrastructure elements are displayed in a configurable topology diagram
Import of diagram or map for topology background is supported
Call Quality Monitoring
Calculates and displays the call quality metrics that reflect the overall call quality experienced by
the caller
A real-time MOS score for every call is provided, even during the call.
Near real-time data on packet loss, packet jitter, and packet delay is provided in graphic format with the
option to view historical data.
Threshold-based email notifications and/or SNMP traps are supported. The user can customize
threshold values to minimize false alarms.
Active Packet Testing
Allows user to see how voice packet traffic is flowing in real-time. It can be used to:
Verify and trace passively identified problems
Proactively test the network during pre-deployment or day-to-day operations
Trigger active packet testing when needed to prevent testing packets from clogging the voice network
traffic
