Enhancements
Version 1600 provides new 1st party TAPI drivers for CTA or CTU units.
In versions prior to Version 1600, the 1st party TAPI drivers only supported single line mode. With Version 1600,
the CTA or CTU drivers can be configured for single line mode or multiline mode. Multiline mode allows 3rd
party applications that support multiline mode to also screen pop on calls to virtual extensions on the station.
Description
The system has Telephony Applications Programming Interface (TAPI) capability. TAPI capability
provides:
Reduced TAPI Feature Set (see the Supported TAPI Commands chart below).
Caller ID data to the PC for data base lookups and screen pops (see the Caller ID Data chart
below).
Telephone control (Off-Hook, On-Hook and dialing).
The CTA or CTU unit provides an interface that allows the user personalized control of the telephone
system from a desktop or laptop PC when used in conjunction with a TAPI-compliant application. The
telephone system and PC are connected by installing an adapter on the telephone multiline terminal,
allowing the PC user to access sophisticated communications services via the telephone lines.
Conditions
Caller ID and Call status are available from the TAPI interface functions.
Refer to
The CT(U)-R Unit is supported only on the ESIB(8)-U20 or ESIE(8)-U20 ETU.
If the CPUII software is at version 1.XX, version 1.0.5 of the 1st party TAPI drivers must be
used. If the CPUII software is at version 2.XX, version 2.0.5 of the 1st party TAPI drivers
must be used. Version 2.0.5 drivers are not compatible with V1.XX CPUII software.
