Interlock System
Key Interlock Solenoid Test
1. Remove the dashboard lower cover.
2. Remove the knee bolster.
3 . D i s c o n n e c t t h e 7 P c o n n e c t o r f r o m t h e m a i n w i r e
harness.
Check for continuity between the terminals in each
switch position according to the table.
5. Check that the key cannot be removed when the bat-
tery is connected to the No. 6 and No. 7 terminals.
a lf the key cannot be removed, the key interlock
solenoid is OK.
a lf the key can be removed, replace the steering
lock assembly (key interlock solenoid is not avail-
able separately).

Remove the lront console (see section 20).
O i s c o n n e c t t h e p a r k i n g p i n s w i t c h 3 P c o n n e c t o r
from the main wire harness.
Check Ior continuity between the terminals in each
switch position according to the table.
lf necessary, remove the self-locking nut and the
parking pin switch.
