Important!
Avoid touching the Battery Contacts or the
Contacts in the Battery Holders because the oils
and acids from your fingers can cause long term
electrical contact problems.
To ensure a complete System reset, remove all of the Batteries and then
short the negative (-) terminal of the Battery Holder, Figure 12 Point A, to
the positive (+) terminal of the Battery Holder, Figure 12 Point B, for
approximately 15 seconds.
Replace the Batteries from left to right for non-weatherized models and
from bottom to top for weatherized models, and check for a proper reset
by pressing any key and observing the Red Light which will flash to indicate
a reset. If the Red Light does not flash, remove the Batteries and repeat the
reset process.
Close the Battery Cover (Standard Models) or replace the Electronics
Housing (Weatherized Models) and continue to press keys, until the Red
Light doesn't flash (about six times). The System will then go through a self
test and all settings will return to their factory defaults. Note that the Master
code is reset to the factory default of 5 0 1 - 1 2 3 4 . If you are using a
printer with your System, you may see these messages:
----- SYSTEMS TEST -----
RAM TEST: PASS (or FAIL)
CLOCK TEST: PASS (or FAIL)
DRIVE TYPE: MOTOR (or RELAY)
or DRIVE WIRES DISCONNECTED
or DRIVE WIRES REVERSED
BATTERY TEST: PASS (or FAIL)
SYSTEMS TEST: PASS (or FAIL)
The Green Light will flash if the self-test of the System completed
satisfactorily or the Red Light will flash if something failed. If the
BATTERY TEST indicates a failure, replace the Batteries and reset the
System again. Otherwise, the Red Light indicates the System may require
service.
