CAUTION
Use electrostatic discharge protection procedures
when the printed circuit board is exposed.
Step 1 Open the Lock and prop open the door so that you can work on it.
Step 2 Remove the Faceplate and loosen the Cylinder Retaining Screw
(Figure 6).
Step 3 Partially insert the Key into the Cylinder, turn it counterclockwise and
unscrew the Cylinder. Remove the Cylinder, Wavy Washer and
Collar from the Module.
Step 4 Using your finger, reach into the hole in the Module and guide the
cables and connectors out through the hole. Note how the wires are
connected and disconnect the connectors.
Step 5 Loosen the Module Mounting Screws, then, while holding the
Module, unscrew the screws and remove the Module from the door.
Step 6 Using the tab on the Battery Cover, carefully pull the Battery Cover
away from the Housing to expose the Batteries (Figure 7).
Very Important!
Get your fresh replacement batteries positioned and ready
to install before you begin the next step.
Avoid touching the Battery Contacts or the Contacts in
the Battery Holders because the oils and acids from your
fingers can cause long term electrical contact problems.
Batteries are to be removed and replaced one at a time.
If all Batteries are removed at the same time, the System
may reset and require reprogramming (See Resetting The
System page 118).
