Battery Replacement Instructions

CAUTION
Use electrostatic discharge protection procedures
when the printed circuit board is exposed.
Note
The battery voltage is measured under load
conditions and the voltages from a number of
operations are averaged to determine the Battery
Status.
After new batteries are installed, the Battery Status
may be reported as less than 3 for the first few
operations due to averaging with previous low
voltage readings.
Replacing the batteries for the standard non-weatherized model requires
removing the System from the door and opening the rear (door side) of the
System. For the weatherized model, the System need not be removed from
the door when changing the batteries. Before you begin, get four fresh AA
size alkaline batteries and have them ready. To change the batteries, follow
these steps:
Tip
Print the Audit Log and Code reports, and verify the
Time Schedule and Holiday List before replacing the
batteries to avoid loss of important data in the event of
accidental reset.

Cylindrical Models (Non-Weatherized)

Step 1 Unlock the System and prop open the door so that you can work on
it.
Step 2 Locate the Lever Catch Hole in the Inside Handle opposite the lever
and insert the Push Pin supplied with the System.
