Entering information into a library screen requires a keyboard.
When accessing the library remotely via the RLC or using an external keyboard, do not

use special characters that are not part of the soft keyboard for login names or
passwords.
The library has three keyboard options:

Provides adding, deleting, and managing users options. See

Accesses the BlueScale Encryption options, including the library's built-in
encryption key management. BlueScale Encryption capability is enabled only
with LTO-4 tape drives installed in the library and when the library is licensed
for encryption.

Remote Access. You can connect the library to an Ethernet network and
access the BlueScale user interface remotely from your computer using
a standard web browser. Using remote access requires the following:

The library is connected to the same network as your computer.
External Keyboard. Connecting a USB keyboard to one of the USB
ports on the LCM (see

are available when you use an external keyboard and mouse are the
same as when you use the touch screen.
Note:
Make sure that the keyboard cable is long enough to reach the
front of the library so that you can view the front panel while
typing.
Soft Keyboard. When using the touch
screen, select the keyboard icon in the lower
right corner of any screen to activate the on-
screen keyboard. Use a stylus or your finger
to select fields and enter alphanumeric information using the keyboard.

Avoid using the "Enter" key on the keyboard. Instead, use the
buttons provided (>>Login, for example).
