Connecting Fibre Channel Tape Drives
In a Fibre Channel environment, you can connect the tape drive(s) to a
Fibre Channel hub or switch in an arbitrated loop or a switched fabric or
directly to the host or HBA. For simplicity in these instructions, each of
these situations is referred to as a "network."
1. Remove the protective plug from the optical connector on the drive sled.
2. Remove the protective plugs from the cable connectors

Note:
It is not necessary to power off the host computer when
connecting Fibre Channel tape drives.
