Preparing for the Upgrade

Before you begin a firmware upgrade, make sure of the following:

Note: The most helpful information on updated firmware packages
can be found in the Spectra T50e Library Release Notes, which were
included with your library. The release notes are also available
on Spectra Logic's Web site at
documents.
All backup processes are stopped before updating the library's
firmware; the LC always reboots after an update, which could affect
backups.
Spectra Logic recommends disabling the backup software services or
daemons.
None of the tape drives have media loaded. If media is loaded in any of
the tape drives, unload it prior to performing the upgrade.
