Importing Multiple Cartridges via Bulk Load
Spectra Logic recommends ONLY using the Bulk Load/Bulk Unload option to

import or export multiple cartridges
If you have Media Lifecycle Management (MLM) enabled, remove cartridges via the
Access Port, power off the library, and then load cartridges manually, your MLM
database is no longer accurate in the library. Because of this, you should NOT use
the Bulk Load/Unload option during normal library operations.
This is a three-step process:
Delete the Second Partition To use the Bulk Load option with the least risk,
configure the library to use only a single partition (see
Management on page 119
When you delete a partition, the tape drives and slots previously assigned
to that partition can be reassigned to an existing partition or used to create
a new partition.
After the partition is deleted, the cartridges in the slots assigned to that partition

will not be accessible until they are assigned to another partition.
If your library only has one partition:
Follow these steps to delete an existing partition, if needed:
1. Log in as a user with superuser or administrator privileges.

Load the cartridges
Modify the partition settings for the desired configuration

Use the Bulk Load option only if the library has a single partition.
