Chapter 3 — Library Operation
Logging In
Follow these steps to log into the library.
1. Select the screen's keyboard icon
When accessing the library remotely through a web browser, do not use the Enter

key on your keyboard when entering information in any of the text fields. Various
web browsers handle the Enter key differently, causing inconsistent behavior in
the BlueScale RLC interface. Click the on-screen buttons in BlueScale screens
instead of using your keyboard.
2. Select the User text box. A cursor appears in the box.
3. Type your user name (su is the default user name for a superuser).
4. Type your password in the Password text box. If you log in as the

keyboard.
Note: Selecting the keyboard icon on the Login screen activates the soft
keyboard on the library's touch screen. Selecting the keyboard
icon again closes the soft keyboard.
When using an external keyboard or Remote Library
Controller, do not use special characters for login names
or password that are not part of the soft keyboard.
Use your finger or a stylus to select fields and to type
information using the soft keyboard.
The options and controls provided through the user interface depend
on to which user group you belong. See
page 73 for information about user groups.
