Installing the Tape Drive

Follow these steps to install a tape drive:
1. Determine where to install each tape drive—The drive bays are

2. Add the tape drive—Access the back of the library.

full-height or half-height tape drives, there are two or four drive bays,
respectively.

The drive bays are numbered starting with Drive 1 in the bottom

For the 50-slot configuration, three cartridge slots replace
drive bays 2, 3 and 4.

a. Loosen the screws securing the tape drive cover plate using a #2
Phillips screwdriver or your fingers
for future use.
Note:
The library ships with the bottom drive bay uncovered. You must
remove one cover plate for each half-height tape drive, and two
cover plates for each full-height tape drive that you plan to install.
