Chapter 2 — Library Installation

Inventory the Components

Unpack and identify the components that shipped with the library using
the following table for reference. You typically will not have all of the
components listed in the table.

Note: Tape drives and media are shipped separate from the library.
Description
One rack-mount kit is supplied, which
includes all the components required to
mount the library in a standard 4-post,
19-inch rack.
The Spectra T50e Library supports either full-height or half-height LTO tape
drives. The tape drives are shipped separately and installed as part of the initial
installation process.
One USB Storage device is shipped with the library, and
additional USB storage devices are available for purchase
from Spectra Logic.
One SCSI terminator that is appropriate for your
configuration is shipped with each purchased SCSI tape
drive.
A stylus used to navigate through the user interface is
included with every Spectra T50e.
Six rubber feet for the bottom of the chassis can be installed
for tabletop installation. Do NOT install the feet if you plan
to install the library in a rack.
One Ethernet cable is supplied to connect the library to a
network for remote access to the BlueScale user interface.
