Chapter 13: Monitoring Network Connections
Description
The slot number, description of the card and port
number for which the performance statistics are
displayed.
P-bit errored seconds are seconds during which any of
the following occur:
• an incoming AIS is detected
• one or more Path code violations
• one or more out-of-frame defects
P-bit severely errored seconds are seconds during
which any of the following occur:
• an incoming AIS is detected
• 44 or more Path code violations
• one or more out-of-frame defects
Severely errored framing seconds are seconds during
which one or more out-of-frame errors or an incoming
AIS is detected.
Unavailable seconds are seconds during which the
interface was unavailable. A line becomes unavailable
at ten consecutive P-bit severely errored seconds.
Line coding violations are bipolar violations or
excessive zeroes in the line coding.
P-bit coding violations occur when a received P-bit
code on the DS3 M-frame is not identical to the
corresponding locally-calculated code.
Line errored seconds are seconds during which one or
more line code violations occur.
C-bit coding violations are C-bit parity errors.
C-bit errored seconds are seconds during which any of
the following occur:
• one or more C-bit coding violations
• one or more out-of-frame defects
• an incoming AIS is detected
C-bit severely errored seconds are seconds during
which any of the following occur:
• 44 or more C-bit coding violations
• one or more out-of-frame defects
• an incoming AIS is detected
