Installation Procedure
1. Install the intermediate shaft in the transmission.
2. Move the intermediate shaft back and forth to ensure
that the intermediate shaft is properly seated.
3. Hand tighten the mounting bolts for the intermediate
shaft mounting bracket.
CAUTION

Refer to "Fastener Notice: ".
4. Tighten the mounting bolts for the intermediate shaft.
Tightening torque
Tighten the mounting bolts to 35 N⋅m (26 lb ft).
5. Install the NEW intermediate shaft retaining.
6. Install the wheel drive shaft assembly. Refer to
"Front Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement (AWD): "
"Front Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement (FWD): ".
7. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.

Removal Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to "Lifting and
Jacking the Vehicle: ".
2. Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to "Tire and Wheel
Removal and Installation: ".
3. Insert a drift or punch into the rotor and against the
brake caliper mounting bracket.
4. Using the appropriate tool, loosen the wheel drive
shaft spindle nut.
