Park Brake Shoe (Qty: 2)
Procedure
1. Use denatured alcohol to clean brake dust or grease from the park brake shoes and hardware.

2. If reinstalling the park brake shoes, note the location of the park brake shoes for installation.
3. Apply a small amount of high temperature silicone grease to the brake shoe and backing plate
contact points.
4. Adjust the park brake. Refer to "Park Brake Adjustment".
Park Brake Lever Assembly Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Disable the supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR)
system. Refer to "SIR Disabling and Enabling: ".
2. Remove the front floor console. Refer to "Console
Replacement: ".
3. Ensure that the park brake lever is in the fully
released position.
4. Release the tension from the park brake cable
system at the front cable adjusting nut (1).
5. Using ONLY hand tools, loosen the adjusting nut (1)
completely to the end of the front cable threaded rod.
Component Name
6. Disconnect the electrical connector from the park
brake warning lamp switch.
7. With the park brake lever (1) in the released position,
release the rear park brake cable (2) ends from the
cable equalizer.
8. Release the rear cable fittings from the park brake
lever bracket.
