Corona Wire Cleaning

The corona wire is cleaned immediately after the main power switch or operation power switch is switched
on, if these two conditions occur at the same time:
• 600 m of paper fed through the machine since the last wire cleaning
• The temperature of the hot roller is less than 50 °C (122 °F).
The interval between automatic wire cleaning (Default: 600 m) can be adjusted with SP2804. This SP can
also be set to clean the corona wire immediately after the machine is switched on.
The wire cleaner motor [A] controls the cleaning pad [B].
When the cleaning pad gets to the left side (as shown above), the motor changes direction and pulls the
cleaning pad back to the home position on the right.
If the cleaning pad is not at the home position immediately after the main power is switched on, the cleaning
pad goes back to home position.
The actuator [C] for the wire cleaner sensor [D] turns while the cleaner moves. The signals from this sensor
tell the machine when the cleaning pad moves. If the wire cleaner stops before it gets to the end, or if stops
too long at the far left position, the wire cleaner sensor detects an error.
