HINT:
If you cannot add the listed amount of fluid, do the following:

AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID

BEFORE TRANSMISSION FILL
This transmission requires Toyota Genuine ATF WS
transmission fluid.
After servicing the transmission, you must refill the trans-
mission with the correct amount of fluid.
Maintain the vehicle in a horizontal position while adjust-
ing fluid level.
On vehicles equipped with active suspension, turn the
suspension control switch OFF if you jack up the vehicle
while the engine is running.
Proceed to step 2 if you replaced the entire transmission,
transmission pan, drain plug, valve body and/or torque
converter.
Proceed to step 3 after removing the refill plug if you re-
placed the transmission hose and/or output shaft oil seal.
TRANSMISSION PAN FILL
Remove the refill plug and overflow plug.
Fill the transmission through the refill hole until fluid be-
gins to trickle out of the overflow tube.
Reinstall the overflow plug.
TRANSMISSION FILL
Fill the transmission with the correct amount of fluid as
listed in the table below.
Reinstall the refill plug to avoid fluid splash.
Repair

Install the refill plug.
S
Allow the engine to idle with the air conditioning
OFF.
S
Move the shift lever through entire gear range to cir-
culate fluid.
S
Wait for 30 seconds with the engine idling.
S
Stop the engine.
S
Remove the refill plug and add fluid.
S
Reinstall the refill plug.

0.4 L (0.42 US qts, 0.35 Imp qts)
1.3 L (1.37 US qts, 1.14 Imp qts)
3.9 L (4.12 US qts, 3.43 Imp qts)
