CLUTCH PEDAL
CHECK THAT PEDAL HEIGHT IS CORRECT
Pedal height from dash panel:
170.2 to 180.2 mm (6.701 to 7.095 in.)
Pedal height from dash insulator:
157.7 to 167.7 mm (6.209 to 6.602 in.)
IF NECESSARY, ADJUST PEDAL HEIGHT
Loosen the lock nut and turn the stopper bolt or clutch
start switch until the correct height is obtained.
Tighten the lock nut.
CHECK THAT PEDAL FREEPLAY AND PUSH ROD
PLAY ARE CORRECT
Depress the pedal until clutch resistance begins to be felt.
Pedal freeplay: 5.0 to 15.0 mm (0.197 to 0.591 in.)
Gently push on the pedal until the resistance begins to in-
crease a little.
Push rod play at pedal top:
1.0 to 5.0 mm (0.039 to 0.197 in.)
IF NECESSARY, ADJUST PEDAL FREEPLAY AND
PUSH ROD PLAY
Remove the lower finish panel and disconnect the air
duct.
Loosen the lock nut and turn the push rod until correct
freeplay and push rod play are obtained.
Tighten the lock nut.
After adjusting the pedal freeplay, check the pedal height.
Connect the air duct and install the lower finish panel.
CHECK CLUTCH RELEASE POINT
Pull the parking brake lever and install wheel stoppers.
Start the engine and run at idle.
Without depressing the clutch pedal, slowly move the shift
lever into the reverse position until the gears contact.
