HINT:
Cover the transmission extension housing with a cloth to pre-
vent any oil from leaking.

DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
REMOVE TRANSMISSION SHIFT LEVER
Remove the transmission shift lever knob.
Remove the 4 bolts and shift lever boot retainer.
Remove the transmission shift lever boot.
Turn over the dust boot.
While pressing down on the shift lever cap, rotate it coun-
terclockwise to remove.
RAISE VEHICLE AND DRAIN TRANSMISSION OIL
Remove the drain plug and gasket and drain the trans-
mission oil.
Install a new gasket and the drain plug.
Torque: 37 N·m (380 kgf·cm, 27 ft·lbf)
REMOVE LH AND RH FRONT EXHAUST PIPE
(See page EM−126)
REMOVE PROPELLER SHAFT (See page PR−3)
DISCONNECT VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR, BACK−UP
LIGHT SWITCH CONNECTOR
REMOVE CLUTCH HOUSING COVER
Remove the 3 bolts and clutch housing cover.
REMOVE CLUTCH ACCUMULATOR
Remove the bolt and clamp.
Using SST, disconnect the clutch lines from the clutch ac-
cumulator and clutch release cylinder. Use a container to
catch the fluid.
