Using the specific tool, pre-tighten the
ring nut (8) to the torque of 60 Nm
(44.25 lbf ft).
•
Turn the handlebar to the right and left
until the end of the stroke, to allow the
bearings to settle.
•
Unscrew the ring nut (8) and tighten it
to a torque of 30 ± 5 Nm (22.23 ± 3.68
lbf ft).
•
Turn the handlebar to the right and left
several times through its full travel and
make sure that the rotation is smooth
and free of jams.

•
Insert the rubber shim (9) on the steer-
ing headstock.
•
Screw the counter-lock ring (10) until it
is in contact with the shim (9).
•
Align the grooves of the counter-lock
ring (10) with those of the ring nut (8).
