RAP 2.63 Elevator Empty Sensor

Elevator I/O PWB Input 10
The Elevator empty sensor (Figure 2-98) is a
retro-reflective sensor that detects if there are
any books in the Elevator that need to be lifted
and fed into the trimmer. The reflector is located
on the bottom side of the pusher arm.
Possible Fault Indicators
The Elevator doesn't lift when there are
books in it.
The Elevator lifts multiple times without
any books in it.
Initial Actions
Check that all cables between the trimmer, Ele-
vator, and Tilt Infeed Conveyor are securely fas-
tened and are not damaged.
Check that the reflector is in place (Figure 2-98).
Replace if necessary (PL 5.29 Elevator
56421TCA (2/7)).
Check and repair loose or damaged wires 47,
73, and 74 at the Elevator electrical panel.
Procedure
1. Switch the main power ON and go to the El-
evator diagnostic screen (GP 6.2 Input/Out-
put Diagnostics). Make sure that the sensor
is not obstructed. Is input "Elevator Empty"
off?

N
Disconnect wire 47. On the diagnostic
screen does input "Elevator Empty" switch
off?
Y
N
Disconnect power and replace the Ele-
vator I/O PWB (REP 4.26 Accessory
PWB Replacement).
CMT-130TC Book Trimmer
Adjust the sensor (GP 6.6 Retro-reflective
Sensors) and replace if faulty (PL 5.28 Ele-
vator 56421TCA (1/7) or PL 5.37 Elev. Elec-
trical Panel EE-3523).
2. Short wire 47 to 74. On the diagnostic
screen does input "Elevator Empty" switch
on?
Y
N
Disconnect power and replace the Elevator
I/O PWB (REP 4.26 Accessory PWB Re-
placement).
3. Adjust the sensor (GP 6.6 Retro-reflective
Sensors) and replace if faulty (PL 5.28 Ele-
vator 56421TCA (1/7) or PL 5.37 Elev. Elec-
trical Panel EE-3523).
