RAP 2.33 Internal Conveyor Motor

The motor that drives the two internal conveyors
is located beneath the left-hand conveyor near
the front of the machine (Figure 2-50).
Possible Fault Indicators
The internal conveyor motor does not
run after gripper presets.
The internal conveyor motor runs contin-
uously while a book is in process.
Initial Actions
Check for loose or damaged drive belts.
If motor coasts to a stop (rather than stop
quickly), check brake wiring and/or replace the
brake.
Procedure (conveyors never run)
1. Check circuit breaker CB4 and reset if
tripped. If CB4 continues to trip, check
brake wiring and/or replace the brake.
2. Check for proper wiring at the terminal
blocks located on top of the conveyor motor
brackets (Figure 2-51).
3. Switch the main power ON and press the
green start button to initialize the trimmer.
Once the hydraulic motor is running, short
wire 26 to 37 at SSR1. Do both conveyor
motors switch on?

N
Disconnect power and replace the defective
motor and/or brake (PL 5.11 Main Assembly
59000 (11/14)).
4. Remove the short, then go to the diagnostic
screen (GP 6.2 Input/Output Diagnostics)
and enable outputs. Make sure all doors are

closed, then activate the Interlock Relay out-
put. Press the green start button to energize
the IR relay. The "Interlock Relay IR" input
should switch on. Activate the "Conveyor"
output. Do the conveyor motors switch on?

N
Disconnect power and replace the main
PCB (REP 4.23 Main PWB Replacement).
5. Disconnect power and replace the bad relay,
SSR1 (PL 5.16 Power Panel EE-3503 (1/2)).
Procedure (conveyors always run)
1. Switch the main power ON and press the
green start button. Do the conveyors start
running continuously without stopping?
Y
N
Normal
2. Is output LED 22 (GP 6.3 Input/Output
LEDs) switched on?
Y
N
Disconnect power and replace the bad relay,
SSR1 (PL 5.16 Power Panel EE-3503 (1/2)).
3. Disconnect power and replace the main
PCB (REP 4.23 Main PWB Replacement).
